We offer swim lessons for kids of all ages seven days a week. We make swimming a convenient and consistent part of your student’s routine.
It’s super easy to enroll! Pick a day and time that works best for your family and that is your reserved time until your student moves up a level or your schedule changes.
Personalized Swim Lessons
Bear Paddle is your go-to swimming school in Ohio. We offer different programs that cater to kids of all ages and skill levels. Help your kids become confident swimmers with the help of our experienced swimming instructors. We have divided our programs into the following categories:
Group swim lessons
We place your kids in small groups with students around the same age and same skill level as them.
Semi-private classes
We believe that a buddy system works effectively during swimming lessons. This class setup is a great way to enhance your child’s social skills and develop a healthy competition with a peer.
Private lessons
Make the most out of their time with us through one-on-one sessions with our swimming coaches. They get undivided attention and comprehensive feedback during classes.
Family swim
This is free every weekend! You’ll join your child in the pool for family fun. This option is available for families who are actively swimming in weekly lessons.
Story-Based Learning
Bear Paddle promotes fun and engaging learning through our story-based swimming lessons. We want them to be focused, interested, and excited to go to every class.
Before they start classes, our swimming instructors will first assess their skill levels. We will then put them in their respective courses and other students with their same skill set.
Your child will learn and master new skills as they advance through each level, earning Skill Patch Rewards as they move forward. These patches not only celebrate their little victories but are also our way of tracking their weekly progress. As soon as they get all 26 patches, they can graduate from our program.

Progress Tracking
Our swimming school helps your child become a confident swimmer by tracking progress. Each child receives a monthly in-water skill evaluation, followed by a progress report. Our Progress Patch reward system celebrates your child with each new swim skill learned.
Story-based learning
We believe play-based learning keeps kids engaged and having fun. Our story-based approach keeps kids focused on their swim lesson, with new themes every month.
Flexible scheduling
Our monthly curriculum allows you to enroll any time, and allows us the opportunity to graduate your child to the next swim level when they are ready. Plus, every family receives two make-up lessons each month!

Swimming Lesson FAQs
If you have concerns regarding our lessons, schedules, or health protocols, here are some FAQs we compiled for your assurance:
If you’re signing your kids up for our classes online, please visit the Bear Paddle website. We have a Parent Portal where you can register for swimming lessons. A Parent Portal account lets you see available classes, add students, and update your information. You can also call or drop by our school to schedule a swim lesson for your child.
Even if your little ones are only six months old, they can already start their swimming lessons at Bear Paddle. We also welcome toddlers and big kids to our other classes. Our beginner swim lessons suit kids of all ages.
You can pay lesson fees through credit card, cash, or check. If you’re paying by credit card, we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards. We’ll start charging fees once you’ve scheduled your first day of swimming lessons.
At the very least, your child must have a swimsuit and a towel. He or she can also bring goggles to class. If your little one is below three years old, he or she must wear a disposable and reusable swim diaper in class.
We offer make-up classes Saturdays and Sundays of every week. Spots are on a first-call, first-serve basis. Should you need to schedule a make-up class, please inform our staff Tuesday or Wednesday of the upcoming weekend. Make-up classes cannot be booked beyond the current week and are subject to availability. Moreover, refunds for missed lessons will not be issued.
